Water has dominated for ages the area in which Conselice stands; its well known gastronomy reminds of the marshy environment. Already known in Roman times, it gained strategic relevance as an inland port for the trade between Imola and Venice. The settlement was named Caput Silicis, from which Conselice comes, because of a flintstones paved road linking it to the Imola fortress. |
