Fusignano: TEOFILO CALCAGNINI (1441-1488)
Teofilo Calcagnini was born in Ferrara in 1441 and died in the same city in 1488. He was a nobleman of the Este Court, and he was given, inter alia, the possession of Fusignano by Duke Borso d'Este.

Lugo: THE UPRISING AND LOOTING IN LUGO
The uprising and looting in Lugo is an episode that happened between June 30 and July 8 1796 as a result of the locals’ revolt against the French army.
Conselice: THE WORK AND PAY DEMANDS OF RICE WEEDERS
In 1890 a serious event happened in Conselice. On May the 20th and 21st a group of rice weeders gathered in the square Piazza Maggiore and demanded more dignified work conditions and higher salaries.  The protesters headed for the municipality, but security guards reacted with violence and shot at the workers; three were killed, two women rice weeders and a man.
Bagnacavallo: TOMASO GARZONI (1549-1589)
He was born in Bagnacavallo in 1549 and died in 1589. He was a preaching friar and a writer.
Massa Lombarda: UMBERTO FOLLI (1919-1989)
Umberto Folli was born and died in Massa Lombarda (1919 - 1989). He was a painter and decorator.
Alfonsine: VINCENZO MONTI (1754-1828)
He was born in Passetto, in the territory of Alfonsine, in 1754 and died in Milan in 1828. He is known as the most important poet of italian neoclassical poetry.
Alfonsine: WORLD WAR II - La Linea Gotica and la Battaglia sul Senio
Between December 1944 and the 10th of April 1945, Alfonsine was a battlefield for the German army, for the Allie’s armies and for partisans; here on the Senio river the front of the war was named Linea Gotica (Gothic line), also known as Die Grüne Linie.
